Privacy Policy
AutoStreamer
AutoStreamer is a Windows desktop application. It runs entirely on the computer it is installed on. There is no AutoStreamer account, no AutoStreamer server, and no AutoStreamer database. We do not receive your data, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
This policy describes what the application does with information on your machine, and which third parties it contacts on your behalf.
What we collect
Nothing. AutoStreamer contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no automatic update check. It does not send usage data, device information, game activity or diagnostics to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your computer
AutoStreamer writes the following to your own Windows user profile, under
%APPDATA%\AutoStreamer\:
- Settings (
config.yaml): your stream title template, the games you have configured, and application preferences. - An activity log (
events.jsonl) and application logs (logs\): records of games detected, sessions started and stopped, and the metadata generated for each session. These exist so you can see what the application did and diagnose problems. - Connection credentials (
secrets.dat): access and refresh tokens for the streaming platforms you choose to connect. This file is encrypted with the Windows Data Protection API scoped to your Windows user account, which means it can only be decrypted by the same user on the same machine. Copying it elsewhere yields nothing readable.
These files are never transmitted anywhere. You can delete them at any time. Tokens, stream keys and webhook URLs are deliberately excluded from every log file the application writes.
Which third parties AutoStreamer contacts
Only the services you explicitly connect or switch on, and only to do the thing you asked for. With nothing connected or switched on, AutoStreamer makes no network requests at all.
- Twitch (
id.twitch.tv,api.twitch.tv): when you connect a Twitch account, AutoStreamer sets your channel's title, category and tags. It requests a single permission, channel:manage:broadcast. It deliberately does not request access to your stream key, your chat, your email address or your revenue. - YouTube and Google (
accounts.google.com,youtube.googleapis.com): when you connect a YouTube channel, AutoStreamer sets the title, description and category of your live broadcast. - Discord: if you supply a Discord webhook URL, AutoStreamer posts a message announcing your stream to that one channel, and edits it afterwards to reflect that the stream ended.
- HowLongToBeat (
howlongtobeat.com): only if you turn on the "how long to beat" setting, AutoStreamer searches that site once per game, by the game's name, for how long it takes to finish. Nothing about you or your channel is sent, and the answer is kept on your computer so each game is only asked about once. - OBS Studio: over a local connection on your own machine
(
127.0.0.1). This never leaves your computer.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing what they do with the requests we make on your behalf. AutoStreamer does not route any of this through servers of ours, because we do not operate any.
Your Google and YouTube data
AutoStreamer's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- AutoStreamer requests the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtubepermission, which it uses only to read your channel's live broadcast and to update that broadcast's title, description and category. - Your Google data is used only to provide the feature you asked for. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to anyone, and not used to train any model.
- Your Google credentials are stored only on your own computer, encrypted as described above.
- You can revoke AutoStreamer's access at any time, either by disconnecting inside the application, which deletes the stored tokens, or from your Google account's third-party access settings.
Children
AutoStreamer is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the minimum age required to hold an account on the streaming platforms it connects to.
